Our aphrodisiac-a-day journey has brought us to walnuts on this lovely (translation: Arctic) day in New York City. By supporting a healthy heart and good circulation, walnuts can help keep blood flowing to ALL the right places. So you can, well, go nuts ;)

As the raw chocolate obsession continues at LuliTonix HQ, we tossed some walnuts (and lots of other goodness) into our food processor to create some..

Totally Nuts Raw Brownies

Brownies:

  • 1 cup raw walnut pieces
  • ½ cup hemp seeds
  • 1 ½ cups dates (pitted)
  • ½ cup cacao powder
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 2 tsp cacao nibs
  • ¼ tsp Himalayan salt 

Process hemp seeds and dates first, then add in the cacao powder, vanilla and Himalayan salt. Stir or pulse in the walnuts and cacao nibs last. Press the mixture into a lined or oiled pan. Let it sit to solidify (or pop it in the freezer for a few minutes to speed the process along!)

 Icing:

  • ½ cup coconut oil
  • ½ cup cacao powder
  • ¼ cup pure maple syrup (or sweetener of choice)
  • ¼ tsp vanilla extract
  • Pinch of Himalayan salt 

Melt the coconut oil, then stir in the remaining ingredients. Then all that’s left is to spread, chill, slice and serve :)

Optional festive icing for the Lunar New Year (or a belated Valentines Day!):

  • 1/3 cup raspberries or strawberries
  • 1 thumb ginger
  • ¾ cup raw cashews
  • ¼ cup pure maple syrup (or sweetener of choice)
  • ½ tsp vanilla
  • Lemon zest as desired

Blend. Spread. Chill. Slice. Serve. (Repeat??)
