We just finished our group 3 Day Rejuve Cleanse, and whipped up this cup of deliciousness as a post-cleanse treat... Of course you don't need to go on a cleanse to enjoy this, it's easy to make, and is filled with nourishing superfoods, including Maca (my favorite!), Cacao, Turmeric & Chia!

Just a few of the amazing benefits...

Maca is for Sexy!

Maca root is known to promote energy, balance hormones, and boost your libido. You might say it's the sexiest of the superfoods. Nutritionally dense, maca also contains high amounts of minerals, vitamins, enzymes, and all of the essential amino acids. Maca root is rich in B vitamins, specifically providing an important source of B-12 for vegetarians. On top of all that, maca also contains high levels of bioavailable calcium and magnesium and is great for remineralization. #LOVE

Cacao is for Happy!

A prized food of the early Mayan empire, cacao ranks as one of the worlds top superfoods. One of the most antioxidant-rich foods on the planet, cacao provides a wealth of minerals and is among the best plant-based sources of magnesium, and also touts high levels of calcium and iron. Cacao contains several important phyto-chemicals and specific amino acids that help to elevate your mood, too.

Turmeric is for Sunshine!

The bright yellow spice is one of the best sources of beta-carotene, which the body either converts into vitamin A or uses as a powerful antioxidant (out, damned free radicals! Out we say!). It's also believed to provide relief to arthritis sufferers due to its anti-inflammatory and natural pain-killing properties. Turmeric also cleanses the blood, is an effective detoxifier, and may also help to regulate blood sugar. Not to mention, it's a natural remedy for cold and canker sores. Let the sunshine in!

Chia is for energy!

We LOVE chia. A superb source of plant-based omega-3 oils, fiber, and protein, they also provide sustained hydration and energy-- great for all you athletes! Touted as a weight-loss ally (in part because they expand in your stomach, keeping you satiated), they are said to lower cholesterol, lower blood pressure, and regulate blood sugar. We would say that all they don’t do is take out the trash, but (ahem) now that we mention it…

1/4 cup Chia life*

1 Tbsp raw Cacao

1 heaped tsp Maca

1/2 tsp Turmeric powder (or if you have fresh root, blend up a small chunk!)

1 tsp Coconut Sugar (optional)

3/4 cup Hot water

Optional yumminess:

Blend for 1-2 seconds to make it frothy.

Sprinkle with cacao nibs,

Enjoy! Xo

*if you can't get your hands on a Chia Life, you can use any regular nut mlik, or make your own cashew milk. :)
